There is nothing like having a play structure in your own backyard. Personally, I love having the kids in my backyard where I can chaperone. (Ok – I’m a control freak – I admit it). I have some great suggestions when it comes to choosing a play structure. Read on to see my 3 Recommendations For Your New Swing Set. [Read more…]

LuLaRoe is all the rage among Mommies. Buttery soft leggings and comfy tunics have become part of the “Mom Uniform” for on-the-go Mamas. The way LuLaRoe does business definitely creates a buzz around certain prints and styles. I was reviewing my Amazon Subscribe & Save list today and realized there were a few items that we either had WAY too many of or no longer needed. I went searching in the Subscribe & Save Store to see what else I could add to maintain my 5 item 15% discount.
Whoa, what happened?
When I try to add an item to Subscribe & Save, I get this:
It seems to me that Amazon has finally caught up with those who order an item on Subscribe & Save for the great discount, and then cancel as soon as it ships. So, Amazon is now offering 5% off on your first order and then giving you the full 15% off on subsequent orders. For those of us loyal to Subscribe & Save, this is a definite annoyance. Now, I can’t add new items to my S&S for next month on the fly. It’s impossible to add a new S&S item to my next order.
I suppose it’s nice that I don’t have to wait for my monthly delivery for an S&S item. But I would rather have to wait and save the extra 10%.

We LOVE American Girl® Dolls in this house. There are more of them than I care to admit. When I was a kid, $60-$120 on a single doll was not an option. To be perfectly honest, spending that much on a doll for the recommended age ranges of 3-8+ makes my eyes very wide. I have cringed when my 7 year old brings her Bitty Baby outside and wants to send her down the slide. A $60 baby doll on the SLIDE?? Oh no no no no.
Here are some cute alternatives to the several varieties of American Girl® Dolls available for price tags that are much more palatable. [Read more…]
I really love the Christmas season. The cookies, the lights, the snow, the music, the cookies… 🙂
One thing that I could really do without, however, is the stress of knowing that there will be a large influx of presents in my house. Don’t get me wrong. I am so grateful for my family and friends who love us enough to give us gifts for Christmas. But, these are new things that will be added to the copious amount of other toys/games/activities that ALREADY don’t have an organized place in my home. If you are like me, it doesn’t matter how much you try to organize, there will be Barbies in the Hot Wheels bin and random bits of paper mixed into the Play Doh. It’s chaos on top of chaos. Clutter on top of clutter. And, try though I might… it stresses me out. The more gifts, the more stress.
We have implemented a Christmas present tradition in our home that attempts to mitigate some of the anxiety around the holiday while maintaining the magical experience that is Christmas for our girls. Here are a few ideas to help make Christmas-gift-influx less stressful in your home. [Read more…]
